Durable & High-Quality
Each cutter is made from hardwood (oak) and high-density marine board by an experienced carpenter to create an heirloom-quality piece of equipment.
Roomy Soap Deck
The 16" x 19" soap deck has a 5" tall clearance for high soap tops and piping. Your cutter is custom-built to spec with your wire spacing and wire count.
Locking Wire Keys
Each cutting wire is held in place by a unique locking key mechanism to make restringing and replacing wires frustration-free, fast, and easy.

In 2023, Modern Soapmaking started manufacturing bulk cold-process soap again... but we ran into a big problem. There was no longer a slab cutter on the market that we loved.
So, we took everything we loved about our previous favorite cutter and added the features we wished it had: a larger soap deck for bigger slabs, more height clearance for taller soaps, a shorter fence to prevent denting the bottom of the slab, and locking wire keys to make wire changes easier.
And now this soap slab cutter is available to you: built to your needs!

Our custom soap slab cutters are built to spec, which means your cutter is made specifically for you. Our turnaround time greatly depends on the current order queue and ranges depending on the time of year.
Each soap slab cutter:
- Has a 16” wide x 19” deep soap deck with 5” tall soap deck clearance
- Made with hardwood, high-density marine board, and stainless steel hardware
- Includes the first cutting wire ($425 base price), additional wires are $15 each
- Shipped in a well padded in a 24” x 24” x 12” box with full insurance from NY 12043
- Comes with a spare cutting wire, cleaning tools, and in-depth directions for care and maintenance
You choose your wood stain and marine board color, the base cost includes a durable poly finish and white marine board (as shown).
Wood Stain + Poly
All cutters include stain and poly for beauty and durability. Available colors include Oak, Pecan, Maple, Walnut, Mission Oak, and Black. Additional colors may be available on request including color washes.
Marine Board
By default, all cutters are made with Pure White marine board, which we keep on hand for all cutter manufacturing.
For an additional $25, we can special order Mineral Grey or Midnight Black marine board. For an additional $50, we can special order Fire Engine Red, Pumpkin Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Forest Green, or Cobalt Blue marine board. Upgraded marine board colors are subject to availability and may require additional turnaround time.
